B.U.I.L.T (Believing in Unique Individualized Leadership Training)

A Yonkers based program for teenagers that helps develop leaders through the acquisition of positive self-esteem and good decision-making skills. This program has a strong focus on developing leadership ability, career and educational goals, social skills and entrepreneurship.


Daughters of Destiny

A program for girls ages 8-18 that helps develop positive self-esteem and good decision-making skills. It serves girls in the  Mt. Vernon, Ossining, and Yonkers areas with a strong focus on family, culture and community. Through art, education, and literacy-based activities, as well as scavenger hunts, various outings and community work, the girls work and learn together to shape their own destinies.


Early Childhood Wellness

In a partnership with Westchester Jewish Community Services, Family Ties provides emotional wellness screenings for families seeking help.

Every Kid Counts

A program that provides support, advocacy and case management services for families with youngsters who display emotional and/or behavioral challenges that have been involved with Child Protective Services. By building on the strengths of the family, the Every Kid Counts program strives to keep children safe in successfully functioning families. This program is currently available county-wide and is by referral only.

Grandparents ROCK (Raising Our Children's Kids)

This program provides activities, respite and recreational programs to grandparents who are the primary caretakers for their grandchildren who are experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges.

Parent Academy

Courses and workshops are available for parents, caregivers and youth on a variety of topics from parent skills to leadership and spokesperson training. Parents can also request a course or workshop to meet their needs. Workshops have been done on budgeting, gardening, medication and a host of other subjects. Parent Academy is available in all of our Resource Centers.

  • All Family Ties services are free and confidential.
  • A year in residential treatment can cost $130,000 or more per person.
  • A day in a psychiatric hospital can cost about $1,000 per person.
  • It costs Family Ties about $1,000 per family for a year of services.
  • A day of Family Ties activities costs about $2.75 per family.
  • Family Ties has existed in Westchester for nearly 20 years and has grown from one small support group to a membership of over 2,000 families strong.
  • Most Family Ties staff have experience navigating service systems for their own families.
  • Family Ties is affiliated with the National Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health and Families Together in New York State.
