Domestic Abuse affects every member of the family. When there is conflict at home, it can be hard to know if you are making the right choices, and it may feel overwhelming to ask for assistance—we are here to help.
Family Ties of Westchester’s Support & Connect Program, funded by The Westchester County Office for Women, is a free and confidential program designed to support caregivers impacted by family violence to promote healing, empowerment, and family stability.
If you are experiencing family violence, you are not alone. Nationwide, more than 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been affected by domestic violence.
The Support & Connect program offers domestic violence survivors:
Individualized and Group Support
Parenting Education and help navigating family court, child welfare, and mental health services
Connection to Community Resources such as legal aid, education, substance use treatment, food banks, and more.
A key component of the Support & Connect Program is the S.A.F.E. (Separation from an Abusive Former Partner Education) Parenting Course, which is open to custodial and non-custodial female caregivers who identify as survivors of domestic abuse.
In six sessions, this evidence-informed parenting course for domestic violence survivors provides tools for:
Healing from trauma
Managing emotional impacts of abuse
Recognizing post-separation abuse
Building healthy boundaries and communication
Fostering resilience and secure attachments
Navigating family court
