If your family is already working with the Westchester County Department of Social Services, you’re not alone. We're here to help.
Our services are free of charge, confidential, and available in both English and Spanish.
We focus on your family’s unique strengths and potential to develop a plan for families facing challenges. The result is a safe, stable, and thriving home, where children and caregivers can grow together.
All Intensive Support Services require a direct referral. If you believe one of these programs could help you and your family, please contact your caseworker.
These collaborative meetings bring families and support teams together to identify the best ways to keep children safe — ideally within their homes — avoiding the potential trauma of foster care placement. Caregivers, their chosen supports, DSS representatives, and a Family Ties Family Peer Advocate (if requested) participate, guided by a trained Family Ties Facilitator.
This innovative, short-term programs help stabilize youth at risk of behavioral health crises through mental health consultation, intensive respite care, and Family Peer Advocacy. Services are delivered at home, in schools, and throughout the community.
Crisis Stabilization is offered in collaboration with Family Services of Westchester, Greater Mental Health of New York, and Westchester Jewish Community Services.
This is a voluntary, 3 to 6 month program that helps families navigate parenting challenges and prevent future involvement with Child Protective Services (CPS). When families feel overwhelmed, EKC steps in with weekly in-home support focused on building strengths, restoring stability, and keeping children safe.
EKC Case Planners assess each family’s needs, strengthen parenting skills, connect them to resources, and develop personalized, safety-focused plans. After three to six months, families are reassessed to ensure lasting progress and a safe, thriving home environment.
The Parent to Parent program embeds a Family and Youth Peer Advocate within the Westchester County Department of Social Services’ Mobile Response Team in order to support families involved in the foster care system. They offer peer guidance, resource connections, and emotional support to help stabilize families and reduce placement disruptions.
