Executive Director
Kerry Whelan-Megley, MS, LMSW, is a passionate champion for families and a powerful voice for equity in social and behavioral health services. As Executive Director of Family Ties of Westchester, Kerry brings more than two decades of experience walking alongside parents, caregivers, and young people as they navigate increasing complex service systems. A mother of four herself, she blends her own lived experience with deep professional expertise to push for community-based supports and solutions that both honor youth and family voice and address real-world needs.
Kerry’s leadership extends far beyond Family Ties. She serves on State and County advisory boards, including the NYS Behavioral Health Services Advisory Council and the Westchester County Behavioral Health Community Services Advisory Board, where she works to ensure that policies and services are shaped by the authentic experiences of local youth and families— keeping their voices, needs, and concerns at the forefront of the planning process. Her background includes advanced training in social work, public management, nonprofit leadership, and multi-system integration, all of which fuel her commitment to building fairer, more responsive human service systems.
A tireless advocate, Kerry has led efforts to strengthen collaborative practices, expand community-driven supports, and improve social and behavioral health outcomes for system‑involved children, youth, and families. Her work reflects a simple but powerful belief: that when families are heard, respected, and empowered, communities thrive.
